Close Protection

Close Protection has over time been termed in many different ways. Personal Security, Executive Security, VIP Security, and more commonly Bodyguards, these are some ways to describe the security and protection of an individual usually known as the "Principal".

In the United Kingdom the profession of being a "Bodyguard" is known as Close Protection, the act being carried out by a Close Protection Officer or CPO. Since the UK Parliament introduced the Private Security Industry Act in 2001 it has been the requirement of any individual engaged in close protection operations to have a Security Industry Authority (SIA) license (Close Protection Front Line). To apply for a license applicants must be aged 18 years or over, have a first aid at work qualification recognized by the SIA, pass a formal close protection qualification, usually to the equivalent of a Level III diploma, endorsed by the SIA, and undergo stringent checks through the Criminal Records Bureau.

Assure RMSS Close Protection Officers, if not already known personally by our high level of industry experience, are individually interviewed and vetted for their integrity, maturity, and ability to perform their chosen profession to a standard that Assure management expects, and that our clients demand. All of our CPOs hold a current SIA licence, backed up by a formal qualification in Close Protection to British Standards, and have at least five years experience in Close Protection Operations. Most of our CPOs will have much more experience than five years, will come from front line British Military Units or will be former Police Officers. As standard procedure all of our CPOs are required to sign Non-Disclosure agreements relevant to each of their assignments. Copies of NDAs are available to our clients.

Assure RMSS offer Close Protection, Security Consultancy, and a wide range of VIP and luxury services to a host of clients all with differing needs, requirements and circumstances associated with their professions or "Worldwide" status. Our well trained, professional, and discreet CPOs have the experience to operate in a manner which ensures that their Principal can live and work in as normal an environment as possible whilst they continually assess and minimise any risk.
